Patricia Nelson has the most important interview of her life coming up. It’s a world away from the girl she used to be. Her future relies on her being accepted into university, so no distractions. That means not getting turnt up, no drinks and definitely no boys. Not even Art. Beautiful, smart, convenient Art. She ain’t got time for that. Truly. None.

Arthur McWorth has never been thought of as a distraction. A nuisance. A terrible influence. The bane of his parents’ life, yes. But to a girl like Patricia, he’ll take distraction any day. Beautiful, smart and single Patricia. Since they’re practically family, he’ll help her get through her university interview. In exchange, he’s allowed to be someone altogether different. A boyfriend.

I was so happy to see another book from Billy London. I have read most of her contemporary novels, and I just can't put her books down. When I start a Billy London book, I make sure I have several free hours, because I usually have to read them in one sitting. An Art To It was a fun read. The characters were younger than her usual characters, but it was nice to read about young love. It wasn't all about the bedroom for them. They had a very strong connection, and were happy to wait for each other. For some reason, that made their story even more romantic for me. I got a lot more conversations and meaningful interactions instead of detailed love scenes. I will probably read this one again in the near future. And the cover is really cute too.

An Art To It edition by Billy London Romance eBooks Reviews

I have a love/ hate relationship with Billy London's books. There is very little middle ground for me because she goes all in with her characters personalities. Kissing the Canvas was my jam, I hated Windows, etc. Thankfully, I really enjoyed all of the people who inhabited this book (even the trifling ones) and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

New Adult tends to be full of morally p!ss poor jackholes and the slutshaming, "beautifully broke" dolts who love them. Romance doesn't work for me if I don't like the main couple (why would I invest time/brain power in the story if I don't care about them?). So, I tend to avoid NA like the bubonic plague. An Art To It goes on my insanely short list of good NA. I loved Patricia and Art almost as much as I loved Lily and Pasha from Kissing the Canvas! They were fun and very young, but also mature and really smart. I loved how sure they were of their feelings even if they were still unsure of themselves. And I have a bias towards reading about book smart people, so them bonding over science was right up my alley.

They have to deal with the level of drama you expect from the genre but not the kind of drama! No big, dumb misunderstandings. They are actually open and honest with one another and the conflict is important because it brings them together even as it -and a host of other things young adults go through- complicates their relationship. It worked well for me but if you are looking for the "my mother sold me into prostitution and I lost my memory" or the "I got drunk and half of Kappa Phi Xie is having my baby" this is not the book for you.

There were a few quibbles (time jumps, lots of slang, and the price is a bit outrageous for the length) but nothing that kept me from getting caught up in the book. Again, this isn't NA in all its painful past glory ( though they both have lots of past stuff that effects their present) but it was a very good read.
Nice read. Yes, its about young love and I enjoyed the fact that she didn't have them jumping into bed at every turn. It takes a look at issues of betrayal and the effects it has on the family. She treats them like young people with dreams and gives you a glimpse of life in London, UK.
Billy London does it again with this sweet romance! I love the way she writes dialogue. If you want to read something sweet, smart and romantic, this is the book for you.
I found this novel to be not only delightful but refreshing. It was about two young adults, Arthur and Patricia dealing with some difficult issues growing up as young adults in today's world while finding love and cultivating their relationship. I enjoyed the story line and the progression of this tale.
I couldn't finish this book... That greatly surprise me because I have most of Ms. London's books. This one just irritated me in the very beginning.
I really liked this book even though it seem to me it was gravitating to a younger audience. I like to read a book that doesn't gravitate towards sexual escapades because sometimes it can throw off a scene that doesn't need to have a description to it because it leaves you to wonder and some parts of a book need it and I like a book either way. But this book was good without the description of them in the moment. I can't wait for Bep and Mimi story.
....ABSOLUTELY fantastic read. This author KNOWS how to write a romance that allows for escape-ism. So much so, I completely forgot the age of the characters and found myself transported back to my late teenage years. I also enjoy that Billy obviously includes a lot of her own experiences, giving us an insight into her cultural, traditional and personal experiences. Man, if you can't afford to travel, say to England, Ghana, Italy or Spain, just to name a few countries that are a staple for her backgrounds, then I recommend reading one of Billy London's books. You'll feel like you just spent 2wks vacation in either one of these countries!

Foosrock!
